Familiar firm could design Jones Park

WHBY News – Appleton, WI

The design work for Jones Park in downtown Appleton could be done by the same firm that put together the plans for the expo center.

Parks and recreation director Dean Gazza says they would benefit by having Zimmerman Architectural Studios work on the neighboring projects. He says it’s important that they tie together, and not be two separate projects.

How to Increase Occupancy by 50% in a Modern Biomedical Research Facility

Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research (WIMR) embodies a three-phase effort to broadly incorporate the research enterprise of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) into a physical and intellectual resource that ensures complete integration of basic and clinical sciences into an engine of discovery and translation, thereby facilitating innovation and application to a broad swath of disease-driven initiatives. The plan to construct three towers of biomedical research facilities over a time period of fifteen years is two-thirds complete. This video shows how WIMR increased occupancy per laboratory floor from the first tower to the second tower by 50% using the exact same floor foot print.

Industrial Grit to State of the Art Retrofit

Among the finalists of our Work Design Now series sponsored by Haworth is City Lights by Zimmerman Architectural Studios.

In January 2011, Zimmerman Architectural Studios completed work on the conversion of the Milwaukee Gas Light Company’s retort house into their own multi-discipline architectural and engineering office. It’s an office renovation that, today, houses employees from four previous office sites  under one roof.
