CHILDCARE CENTER

The new childcare center is being designed not only for the educational purposes of the Southwest Tech students, but will house 84 children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years old. The 12,000 square foot building will be located to the south of the West parking lot, and will feature an expanded drop off area for parents, creating a safer entry environment for everyone. The center is expanding from 3 classrooms, to six classrooms, allowing a more distinct separation of children based on there age. The building is also being designed to achieve the National Association for the Education of Young Children Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation.

PROGRAMS EXPECTED IN THE BUILDING

- Classrooms for infants, toddlers, 2-3 year old, 3-4 year old and 4-5 year old children
- An educational nutrition/kitchen lab
- An indoor play area (large motor activity area
- Electronic and computerized security
