Potawatomi Hotel + Casino Second Hotel Tower

The Milwaukee Common Council unanimously approved a host of real estate projects yesterday. Included in the lengthy list were a new hotel tower in the Menomonee Valley, a new coffee shop for the East Side, a zoning change for an apartment building on E. North Ave., a new apartment building and plans for single-family homes in Bay View, a series of small changes to a controversial downtown building and a new park for the Historic Third Ward.

The council had a number of projects before them because the meeting was the last one scheduled before the August council recess.

Additions at St. Charles School in Hartland will be Ready for Students This Fall

VILLAGE OF HARTLAND – The first phase of the expansion of St. Charles Catholic Church and School in Hartland will be complete in time for the 2017-18 school year.

The parish, 313 Circle Drive, is inviting the community to get a look at the new additions — which include three new classrooms, a dedicated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) lab, a new concessions stand, new bathrooms and a revamped gym entrance and vestibule — on Aug. 6.

Jones Park Gets a Makeover

Jones Park is set to get a makeover this year, as its next-door neighbor, the Fox Cities Exhibition Center is scheduled to open this fall.

Last week, city officials held an open house to present preliminary designs to residents and get feedback — similar to one held for Ellen Kort Peace Park earlier this spring.

Appleton has quite a few park projects on its plate, to say the least, including Jones Park and Ellen Kort Peace Park and the new Erb Park pool, among other renovations scheduled for upcoming years.
