After nearly two years, we at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin are thrilled to announce that the renovation of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in our Milwaukee hospital has been completed. In the weeks leading up to the grand opening, you could feel the excitement in our hallways. Staff, in our purple “We’re Moving!” t-shirts, were counting down the days till January 17, 2017, when the first patients would be transferred to their new home.
New offices could be coming to an active stretch of National Avenue in West Allis as the city seeks a buyer to redevelop a former iron foundry property.
That project would include restoring a building at North 68th Street and West National Avenue into office space. The city also owns 7.5 acres of adjacent vacant land that will be marketed for sale for an office development, said John Stibal, West Allis director of development.

An area church got the go-ahead for new additions at the city’s plan commission meeting Thursday, Jan. 19.
Spring Creek Church, N35 W22000 Capitol Drive, got approval from the commission for a $6 million, 30,000-square-foot project to add a new children’s building that will take care of children from birth to fifth grade. The old children’s space will be converted into a larger space for middle and high school students.
