Wisconsin Air National Guard Truax Field Crash and Fire Rescue Station

This fire station is the primary respondent for all fire emergencies at Madison’s Truax Field.  The fire station is 9,300 s.f. and houses six drive-thru vehicle bays. There are male and female accommodations for approximately twelve full-time fire fighters.  This state-of-the art facility features a training room, exercise and fitness room, a laundry, and kitchen.  In addition, ample storage for equipment and administrative duties are provided.  There is an AFFF Storage and filling area – a sophisticated chemical used to extinguish jet fuel fires and an area to service and maintain fire extinguishers.  Additionally, The dispatch area is directly linked to the control tower for quick response to emergency situations.
