Throughout the course of his 30 year architectural career, Mr. Zimmerman has developed an award-winning design portfolio featuring a variety of building types and established himself as a leader in the field of sustainable design. He collaborated with the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance to assist in the development and training of LEED accredited professionals. He has lectured on sustainable development topics, material selection and indoor air quality at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Engineering, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture, Milwaukee school of Engineering and Mount Mary College. He has served as a consultant to the Energy Center of Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin Research Park, guiding them through the construction of the proposed Green Commercial Buildings Project and has been a member of Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett’s Green Team. Recently, his primary area of focus has been on the municipal marketplace including government service and administration centers, and public safety facilities including police and fire stations.
