Vice President | Director, Business Development

From joining Zimmerman over 18 years ago as a landscape architect to leading the firm’s landscape and site design efforts across all disciplines and markets, Tom now runs the company’s business development efforts. Throughout his career, his project expertise has covered a wide range of projects and site design approaches, including healthcare environments, government facilities and sports & rec venues.

As the Director of Business Development, he serves all studios and departments, working with leadership to assess and develop new business opportunities throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest. In addition to creating tactical business development plans, he builds relationships with industry partners and represents the firm at industry and community events.

Tom is an associate board member of the Zoological Society of Milwaukee, a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and is active with the Waukesha County Business Alliance. In addition, he is passionate about giving back to the community and does so by volunteering his time with the Hunger Task Force and Habitat for Humanity. Outside of work, Tom is an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 71 in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and an over-the-hill amateur triathlete. He graduated from UW-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture.
