Racine Festival Hall and Colonnade
The Downtown Racine Development Corporation, a privately funded group of downtown businessmen, in concert with the City of Racine, created a new multi-purpose facility to accommodate a multitude of ethnic and civic activities in the Racine area. This facility serves as a focal point for the new Racine harbor and 1000 slip marina development on the shore of Lake Michigan. The building brought new life to a blighted area and promoted additional downtown development. The Festival Building is a self-sufficient, multi-purpose building which serves as a community center, banquet hall, exposition center and concert hall. The Colonnade Building provides a covered market and outdoor exhibit space as well as a support facility for the Festival Park.
