Siepmann Downtown Redevelopment (retail)
The historic center of this popular lakeside village was undergoing a renewal as a result of Wisconsin’s recently enacted Smart Growth legislation. Once the site of a popular but somewhat undesirable tavern, a local developer razed the former structure and replaced it with a quaint series of period sensitive storefront façades. The color, materials, scale and image are all reflective of the historic, commercial vibrancy and recreational heritage of the public beachfront area of downtown Pewaukee re-established by the precedent setting Pewaukee Lake Pavilion, which was also designed by Zimmerman. The result is a destination development for retail and restaurant use.
