St. Ann Intergenerational Center – St. Francis
Zimmerman provided planning and design services for a Respite Center addition to the St. Ann Intergenerational Care Center. Well known for its intergenerational program which brings clients of all ages together for planned and informal activities St. Ann’s recognized a need in the community for adult respite services. Respite care provides temporary relief for caregivers from the continuous responsibility of caring for an individual with special needs. The 14,000 square foot addition added a large nine-bed respite area with a community living room, kitchen, dining room, whirlpool bathroom, laundry facilities and staff area. The addition also provides a state-of-the-art Outpatient Rehabilitation Department, a four-chair Hair and Nail Salon and a large indoor Hot-Tub Spa in the Aquatics Department. The project also involved substantial remodeling throughout the existing facility.
