St. Joseph’s Hospital Kraemer Cancer Center
Zimmerman was engaged by St. Joseph’s Hospital (a part of Froedtert + the Medical College of Wisconsin) to provide planning and design services for a new 58,000 square foot cancer center addition at the recently completed St. Joseph’s Hospital complex near West Bend. The institutional grade three-level addition includes a single linear accelerator vault. The first floor houses a Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) clinic organized to comply with the MCW clinic prototype. The new center also provides a replacement for the former Alyce and Elmore Kraemer Cancer Center and houses radiation therapy, infusion spaces, clinical spaces and offices for cancer diagnostics and treatment programs. The lower level of the facility is designed to I-2 hospital code construction to allow for inpatient services.
