University of Wisconsin Green Bay Kress Events Center
Zimmerman was part of a team involved in the design of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Kress Events Center addition and remodeling project. The 170,000 square foot addition includes: a 50,000 square foot, 4,000-seat event center which houses the women’s basketball and volleyball programs, as well as performances, commencements and convocations; a 12,000 square foot fitness center with a three lane, elevated walking/jogging track; recreation/practice gymnasium; turf gymnasium for recreation, intramurals and athletic practices; new offices for the athletic department; athletic locker suites; sports medicine and training; classrooms; video rooms and press rooms. Concurrently, approximately 25,000 square feet of existing space was remodeled to include new student locker rooms, athletic team locker suites and recreation offices. The Kress Events Center was designed to achieve a LEED Silver rating, although actual certification was not pursued.
